A custom designed and built website
I loved designing and building this website. Photography websites are my specialty and to work with DMB. and their artists, including Janette and Martin Parr, was a treat. Under the Creative Direction of Candice Lawler at DMB. the brief was to simplify the site, to focus attention on the artists, and for the feed of new work to move into social media so the site focus could be a tighter set of artists’ portfolios.
Candice, and James, were great to work with at DMB. We managed to slim down a 26GB WordPress site to 8GB and improve its load times globally with better code and better hosting (we are using Kinsta). We used the same fonts as the previous site but gave them more prominence and space. We simplified the artist, production, and creative direction pages with responsive photography layouts and one portfolio over a mixture of portfolios and recent work.
My favorite design element is the CONTACT link on the home page, set like a print magazine credit.
